Steak and Ale Cobbler makes a welcome change from the more traditional pie. We use British grass fed shoulder steak which we cook slowly in “Old Speckled Hen” Ale. But why do we use Old Speckled Hen? It’s for no other reason than Dan likes it so he gets to finish the bottle!

*What is a Cobbler? I hear you cry…. For the uninitiated, it’s a savoury scone. It develops a firm crust as it cooks in the oven and soaks up a little of the gravy from the stew. It’s bloomin’ gorgeous.
